Crew, cargo and fuel

With Live Occupant Mass on, every person on board gets weighed (their actual character mass plus whatever gear they're carrying) at the seat they're in. Live Occupant Bare Mass overrides the body mass if you want a fixed number (the Mi-8 uses 80 kg).

People who aren't in a seat count too, up to 32 of them, weighed where they actually are:

  • Riders. Drive-by mods like SHS Drive By take a passenger out of their seat so they can shoot, and attach them to the helicopter instead. RFM picks up anyone attached to the aircraft who isn't in a seat. No dependency needed.
  • People standing on board. With Live Standing Occupants on (it is by default), anyone whose feet are on the aircraft counts, like troops walking into a Chinook's cargo bay, someone on the ramp, or someone standing on a skid. RFM checks with a short trace down from each person near the aircraft.

When someone changes place (seat to seat, seat to a drive-by seat, seat to standing) they're moved over in the same check, so they're never counted twice or dropped. If someone briefly can't be found anywhere, RFM keeps their weight only while it looks like they're still on board. As soon as they're standing on the ground or something else, or falling away from the aircraft, their weight comes off. That covers getting out and bailing out. With SHS Drive By loaded, RFM also asks SHS if their seat change is still running, so a slow drive-by switch keeps its weight for up to 3 s. No dependency on SHS.

The ground and rotor traces ignore people completely, and so does the ground contact check, so somebody standing in the cabin under the rotor, or sitting on a skid bench, never reads as ground. The aircraft won't think it's landed because someone is standing in it.

Vehicle inventory and Reforger SUPPLIES (3 kg per unit) get added as cargo.

The fallback PointInfos (Occupant Fallback Point, Cargo Inventory Point, Supply Point) only get used when RFM can't find a seat or storage position.

Mounted ammo belongs to Stores, not cargo. Fuel follows the vanilla tanks (see Use Vanilla Fuel in step 5 of the conversion). Modded sling loads aren't counted yet.
